Weekend Courses

These weekend breaks give us the opportunity to become deeply familiar with the peace and contentment that comes through meditation. Accommodation is always available if you wish to stay for courses, so why not make the most of the weekend by experiencing life in a Buddhist community and immersing yourself in the peaceful environment of Bodhisattva Centre. If you cannot attend a whole weekend, you are also welcome to book for just part of a course.


Art Course - Statue Painting
July 2nd - 5th

A four day workshop learning the sacred art of statue painting from qualified artist Jason Lupi. This course will provide clear instructions and practical demonstrations on all aspects of statue painting including preparing, painting, and gilding statues. This course is suitable for all levels of experience. Please bring your own filled statue to paint (the bigger the better) and brushes of various sizes. Spaces on this course are limited, please book early. All meals are provided during the course.

Introduction to Meditation Retreat
July 10th - 12th
September 25th -27th (Medicine for the mind)
November 27th -29th

During the retreat you will learn the basics of meditation: how to meditate, what is meditation, how to prepare for meditation, the meditation posture, different types of breathing meditation, how to integrate meditation in your daily life. Sessions last for about one hour each. The meditation teacher will give a short talk in each session and guided one or two meditations. There is also time for discussion.
