Kadampa Buddhism in Brighton and the South

Working Visits

Bodhisattva Centre provides a place for people to learn about the Buddhist way of life through participating in the lifestyle of the community. Working visits are a wonderful way of having an enjoyable and rewarding break, and to meet and work with our friendly community. The working week consists of 35 hours from Monday to Friday and includes food, accommodation and the opportunity to attend our classes and meditation sessions.

Our working visit weeks are from Sunday to Sunday. If you are a resident outside the UK, a working visit can last up to two weeks. Working visits for UK residents last one week. The work will depend on the project that we are focusing on at any one time, but likely possibilities include gardening, decorating, building, cleaning and cooking.

All our meals are vegetarian with lunch as the main meal of the day. Food is provided for you to prepare your own breakfast and supper. We offer dormitory accommodation, please bring a sleeping bag. We offer working visits only during term times when classes are running so visitors can get the most out of their stay.

Please contact the Admin Director by email, telephone or post, if you would like to apply to do a working visit or download booking form here.
